Due to the Omicron threat and high transmission rate on the Island, we are suspending all in person worship and gatherings immediately.
We will continue to meet online via our taped worship service and ZOOM meetings and studies.
WE are called to love our neighbour as ourselves. And it is in this light that we want to do all we can to keep all safe.
God be with us all! This decision will be revisited mid January. Blessings!
How good it is to meet once more in the flesh to worship. There is much we can experience online, and are grateful that we have both the technology and creative will to do so, but there is no substitute for the energy experienced when we are together in one room. All are welcome!
As we are still living in pandemic times, there are protocols we must follow. Everyone who comes, 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. We keep our masks on the whole time (except when we swallow the bread). We are sitting respectfully distanced from one another and not moving around through the service except for when we are ushered forward for communion. AT this time Sunday School is experienced in a bag, with children remaining with their folk, in the pews, throughout the service.
You will note that we are not singing as much as we usually do and we are keeping the liturgy streamlined. The offering plates are at the entrance to the space as they are not passed in the service itself. And communion is received in one kind, the bread, with the celebrant receiving the wine for all. Finally, there is no time of refreshment following.
This is just the way it needs to be at this time and things will evolve as we are able. Even so, how great it has been to see one another and be together these last couple of weeks.
Of course, if you are not well, stay home. The online videotaped service continues to be available on both our website and Facebook page as of 6 AM Sunday mornings. And the liturgy and sermon are sent out Sunday mornings to everyone on the parish email list.
God's peace to us all as we continue to grow in Christ and be the people of God in this time and place.
